November, Half Over

As we slide down into winter it seems the days are slipping faster and faster... until I'm sure they will hit a wall when it drops into the 20s and start to crawl by inch by inch, pretty much through to March. That's how it goes around here. This week was absolutely gorgeous though, a last taste of the warm season, plenty of sunshine and temps mild enough to go without a jacket most of the time. We enjoyed it as much as possible, with both Andy and I getting out into the field multiple times for work, and lots of outdoor time on the weekend. We waited this year until really late to rake our leaves off the lawn... to that point where they don't really look like full leaves anymore but are more like curled, dried husks. Not as much fun for raking huge leaf piles and jumping in them, but it did seem like there were less of them to rake up.

Really not much else going on here. Things have been a bit less hectic and we've been sticking close to home. We had a nice dinner at our friends' house this weekend, took Aiden swimming at the pool, went out for breakfast, and laughed frequently at Haley who has recently become enamored with her own voice. She loves to talk to us, very enthusiastically, about whatever she is seeing or doing. Too bad we don't speak baby, as Aiden says.
